Brideswell Cottage is centrally located, approx. 1.25 hrs. from the port of Rosslare, 1 hr. Wexford town, 1 hr. Carlow, 1 hr. Kilkenny City and approx. 1.5 hrs. Dublin city.
Brideswell Cottage is situated in north Wexford, very close to County Wicklow. There are numerous activities and heritage sites within reach.
To the south, visit Hook Head and see the oldest operational lighthouse in Ireland. Visit the John F. Kennedy Arboretum or see the fishing trawlers land their catches at Kilmore Quay or Dunmore East.
To the north, visit the Historic Gaol in Wicklow town and the Murragh bird sanctuary. Visit some of the many famous period houses and renowned gardens, such as Kilruddery House, Powerscourt House and Waterfalls, Russborugh House and Avondale Gardens, to name but a few.
Gorey is a very busy market town and is just 8 miles, and offers supermarkets, delicatessens, restaurants, and pubs. There are also many clothes shops, bookstores and other shopping galleries to browse. There is also an open air market and a farmers market selling locally grown food produce.
Brideswell Cottage is approx. 35 mins. drive from the sea and the coastal holiday resort of Courtown and Ballymoney. The beautiful beaches of Curricloe and Hook Head are well within reach for a days outing. Visitors will be spoiled for choice to explore the Wicklow Mountains, which offer an abundance of beautiful drives and walks.
